Hi!
Welcome to my little corner of the web. I’ll be posting here rather frequently, sometimes about homeschooling, sometimes about other things. Keep your eye out for links and homeschool goodies.
Oh, and to explain the title…some days just take a second cup of tea!
I’m an experienced homeschool teacher with a passion for making the humanities come alive for middle and high school students.
I’m a longtime homeschool mom. I taught my own son all the way through high school—he’s now thriving in college. I’ve also taught for years in homeschool co-ops, working with many families and students with diverse learning styles.
Those years taught me what teens really need to thrive: respect, challenge, and a teacher who treats them like the young adults they are.
In my classes, there’s no talking down. We discuss. We question. We debate. I encourage students to share their opinions—even when I disagree—because that’s where real learning happens.
I love the humanities because they help students think critically, communicate clearly, and understand the world around them. My goal isn’t memorizing facts for a test—it’s helping teens see why these subjects matter.
All of my classes are designed to count toward high school credit, making them a practical choice for homeschooling families who want both flexibility and academic rigor.
Flexible Formats Virtual (live online classes—anywhere!) In-person (in your home, local area)
And yes—if they’re online, your student can stay in their PJs!
My teaching style is:
Respectful but relaxed Structured but fun Serious learning without talking down Faith-friendly and open to big questions
I love weaving art, primary sources, storytelling, and lively discussions into my lessons. I want students to leave class not only knowing what happened in history or how to write an essay, but why it matters.
If you’re looking for classes where your teen will be heard, challenged, and inspired—while earning credit toward graduation—let’s talk. I offer free consultations to see if my classes are the right fit for your family.
Contact me and we can talk more about your student’s goals!
